Dalmatian Treasures

Dubrovnik (Croatia) - Dubrovnik (Croatia)

8 days / 7 nights - Aug 13, 2018

aboard Il Mare

Reward yourself with the experience of quaint coastal villages and picture-perfect islands, unspoiled scenery and cultural diversity of the Croatian coast. Relax on our Sundeck, enjoy crystal clear waters of the Adriatic and explore cobbled stone streets of medieval Dalmatian cities each evening in a different little port.

Upon your arrival in Dubrovnik we will welcome you at the airport and transfer you to the harbour for your embarkation aboard Mare. Relax after your journey and explore Dubrovnik on your own pace.

We will begin our cruise by sailing around the group of islands known as Elaphiti Islands situated northwest of Dubrovnik. Weather permitting we will stop in one of the bays for swimming and leisure time. We will then continue to sail towards the charming Mljet Island, mentioned in the mythological story of Odyssey. By entering the port of Pomena you will find yourself in front of the Mljet National Park which has preserved the unique Mediterranean ecosystem. Enjoy your walk through the National park and enjoy swimming and sunbathing in the hidden, romantic bays of Mljet.

If time permits, stop on the nearby island of Scedro to bathe. Lunch on-board. Continue to Hvar, also known as Lesina or Pharos, and enjoy a guided tour. Hvar is one of the most popular tourist islands of the Adriatic Sea and one of the trendy places frequented by the International Jet Set. Korcula town offers harmony of natural beauty and human endeavor as well as the typically Mediterranean laid back, relaxing pace of life. We will now sail below the slopes of Peljesac peninsula, where the best Croatian red wines called Dingac and Postup are produced. Explore your own restaurant or traditional “konoba” for lunch and/or join us for an optional wine tasting tour. Weather permitting we will stop for swimming on our way to the coastal village of Slano where we will stay overnight.

Breakfast and lunch

This morning we will sail southwards and weather permitting we will stop at Elaphite islands for swimming and your leisure time. What you will first notice from the ship in the afternoon hours will be this fairy-tale seaside fortress with its 14th century ramparts being the main landmark of Dubrovnik, the city rightfully named The Pearl of the Adriatic. It is the Old town that everyone comes to see when visiting this jewel–city; its buildings with narrow alleyways, red-bricked roofs and a smattering of churches all encased by high city walls which are a must - to walk.
